Review of Brandi Carlile’s “Give Up The Ghost”
*I received a copy of "Give Up The Ghost" from One2One Network to review, but my opinions are unbiased, and these are my own true feelings*
Album Tracklisting:
Looking Out
Dying Day
Pride And Joy
Dreams
That Year
Caroline
Before It Breaks
I Will
If There Was No You
Touching The Ground
Oh Dear
Are you a fan of KT Tunstall, Indigo Girls, Missy Higgins, or Rachael Yamagata? If you are, then you'll love Brandi Carlile for sure! Her last album, The Story, debuted on Billboard's Top 200, peaking at #2 on iTunes and was named one of VH1's "You Oughta Know" artists in addition to having many of her songs featured on various episodes of "Grey's Anatomy".

Her new album "Give Up The Ghost", which was released on October 6th, is absolutely amazing. Brandi actually got to work(duet!) with her childhood idol Elton John on the album, who says that “Brandi has an amazing voice, she’s a great songwriter and has a tremendous career ahead of her.”
If that still doesn't convince you, you should just listen to the songs yourself! I'm sure you will like all of them, I can tell you that I DID! I was especially attracted to "That Year", the guitar in the song matches her voice really nicely, and the song just made me think about my personal history. Her songs are deep and you can tell that she put a lot into them.
Brandi Carlile has toured with the likes of Ray Lamontagne, Dave Mathews Band and Sheryl Crow, who raved about Brandi's live performances, "She has the most amazing voice I may have ever heard. Soulful. Country. Perfect in every way and propelled by taste." I'd like to second that!
